Description
The Upper Douro landscape is peppered with elegant stone dovecotes known locally as ‘Pombais’. Quinta do Vesuvio’s own ‘Pombal’ has lent its name to one of the great vineyards of the estate that surrounds it, planted with the region’s traditional grape varities that have become synonymous with the great new reds of the Douro. Full-bodied and concentrated as one would expect from such a low-yielding vineyard, ‘Pombal Do Vesuvio’ possesses aromas of black cherries and raspberries and an earthly minerality hiding beneath layers of delicious ripe fruit.
