Description

Garnet red with bright reflections. Engaging, ethereal and complex, hints of withered roses, juniper and delicate spices. Ample, harmonious and aristocratic. 100% Nebbiolo Barolo is indeed one of the world’s greatest wines, rich in history and appreciated everywhere. The production area is limited to 11 communes led by Barolo, where Michele Chiarlo owns historical vineyards. “Tortoniano” Barolo takes its name from the Tortonian geological area (La Morra and Barolo), since a part of the grapes used to produce it come from Cerequio crus and a part from surrounding vineyards. Tortonian soil is characterised by sedimentary clayey marl known as Saint Agatha, interspersed with bluish-grey sandstone, which gives rise to a Barolo of exceptional elegance and endowed with marked and complex fragrances as well as a rich taste, with delicate, highly pleasing tannins.
