Description
It is named after a woman: Alexandra. In 1982, Bernard de Nonancourt created an outstanding cuvée of vintage rosé champagne – the perfect expression of his driving passion, and the fruit of his great experience. Exceptionally, the new cuvée epitomised every aspect of the champagne maker’s art: Laurent-Perrier’s unique know-how, careful tending of the vineyards, ceaseless dedication, the best of the natural world, and the best crus in Champagne at the peak of perfect ripeness. Conditions such as these come together only in the greatest years. In 1987, after five years of unhurried ageing in the chalk cellars of Tourssur-Marne, the wine had reached perfection. That same year, Alexandra, Bernard de Nonancourt’s elder daughter, was to marry. The cuvée could only be named for one of the two daughters, and the upcoming family event dictated the choice: Alexandra. To this day, Bernard de Nonancourt’s original vision continues to stimulate the excellence deployed by the entire House during the creation of this great cuvée. It stands as the symbol of an infinite passion for wine, and the signature of a style and a spirit unrivalled in Champagne.
