Description
The Hollywood & Vine 2013 Short Ends Cabernet Sauvignon is a brighter, fresher, slightly more lighthearted version of the flagship 2480 Cabernet Sauvignon. Winemakers celebrated the 2013 vintage as a near-perfect combination of cool spring and warm summer, resulting in grapes with density and concentration. This powerful blend of 84% Cabernet, 10% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc was created from the St. Helena, Oakville, Rutherford, and Carneros AVAs of Napa Valley. The aromas show deep purple berry tones, bright fresh cherry and apple skin, mocha and toasty oak. On the palate, the wine presents a fresh, fruit-centered flavor palette of cherry, raspberry, and toasted almond, with velvety tannins throughout. The fruit for this wine was harvested during late September through late October 2013, fermented on skins and aged as separate lots before being blended and bottled in early April of 2015.
