Description
Bright, intense cherry red with a tawny rim. Intense aromas with fine toasty notes from the oak and hints of red berries against a light background of stewed fruit. Notes of vanilla and spices contributed by the oak cask ageing. Round, velvety and meaty with a lovely integration of the sweet tannins from the grapes and those from the wood, resulting in a smooth yet robust wine. In 1861 Eleuterio Martinez Arzok set out on a journey, selling his Rioja wines direct from the barrel, working from the back of a horse-drawn cart. Thus began Bodegas Faustino, today Spain’s largest producer of Reserva and Gran Reserva Rioja wines. The Faustino brand was born in 1960 and launched in domestic and foreign markets as Don Faustino, Faustino VII, Faustino V y Faustino I. Today, Faustino is recognized for its quality both in Spain and abroad.
