Is deeply rooted in Napa Valley. In 1923 my great-grandfather purchased land in Rutherford, where he founded his grapevine nursery, becoming the Napa Valley’s main purveyor for quality root-stock. My grandfather planted vineyards here in the 1950’s and it was my mother who brought wine-making into the fold when she founded Emmolo Wines in 1994. It is now my honor to continue the legacy, farming vines and making wines at the homestead of my maternal family. My goal is to build on my family’s tried-and-true viticulture techniques, enhanced with fresh approaches, and to produce a wine that is memorable for its finesse and character – Jenny Wagner. Light and soft-bodied, the 2014 vintage offers a firm acidity balanced with a stark, steely flavor. Aromas are fresh and clean, evoking the scent of early morning after a first rain, with a hint of honeysuckle and underlying notes of tangerine and wet stone. The wine enters the palate with a crisp yet soft quality, flowing into flavors of flower blossom and ending with a mouthwatering finish of fresh-squeezed grapefruit. A long-lasting, zesty minerality leaves the sensation of both subtlety and brightness.
