Description
This first release of our Estate Domaine Danielle Laurent Chardonnay results in a wine of precision and elegance with aromas of apricot, hazelnuts, honey, and apple, followed by more complex notes of roasted grain, spice, mint and vanilla. With a citrucy driven mouthfeel, the structural acids are layered through a body of delicate, ethereal core of soft and creamy maple-like tones and overlaid with roasted grain and blond tobacco. In May of 2000 Laurent Montalieu and Danielle Andrus Montalieu purchased an 80- acre estate as their wedding gift to each other and registered with premium nurseries for six different clones of Pinot Noir vines as wedding gifts. They named the vineyard Domaine Danielle Laurent. While waiting for their own vines to mature, the Montalieus purchased fruit from various vineyards, and named their new label Soléna. A combination of two names that signify the sun and the moon, after their daughter.
