Apothic Red reveals intense fruit aromas and flavors of blackberry and dark cherry layered with hints of mocha, chocolate and brown spice. The plush, velvety mouthfeel and smooth finish round out this intriguing, full-bodied red blend. Varietal Content: Zinfandel, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon In 2014, consistently warm temperatures with well-timed heat spikes led to slower ripening and riper red fruit flavors in our Zinfandel from Lodi. Most of the Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were selected from our Ripperdan Ranch in the Central Valley, with the balance chosen from the Lodi area. These varieties benefited from equally fantastic weather, producing rich fruit flavors of blackberry and black cherry with complex tannins to round out the red fruit characteristics of the Zin in this blend. – Winery Inspired by “Apotheca,” a mysterious place where wine was blended and stored in 13th century Europe, the wines of Apothic are truly unique in style and taste.
